
The Center for Gulf Studies at Qatar University organized the 8th annual international interdisciplinary conference entitled “Gulf Families:Continuity and Change” in collaboration with the Doha International Family Institute
Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) participated in the first edition of the Arab Climate Forum, under the theme “Together to Enhance the Contribution of Civil Society to Climate Action”, under the patronage of HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saoud, the chairman of the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND), and in partnership with the League of Arab States and the Arab Council for Childhood and Development and participation of the Egyptian Minister of Environment Dr. Yasmine Fouad,. Dr. Sharifa Noaman Al Emadi, Executive Director of DIFI, participated in the “Climate change and sustainability” session with a presentation on “Family and Environment Sustainability”. Dr. Al Emadi recommended that the family and family policies be included in the international and regional momentum agenda on sustainability and the environment, especially taking into consideration that although 6 out of 17 SDGs focus on the environment, the family component is not included in the indicators of these goals.
The Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) has launched the OSRA research grant in its sixth cycle which is a research grant on Arab families and family policy related issues.
