DIFI takes part in forum on women’s social and economic empowerment

The Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) has participated in the forum on the economic and social empowerment of women and their role in sustainable development on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The forum was organized on March 8 by the Department of Family Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family to raise awareness about women empowerment.

Dr. Sharifa Al-Emadi, DIFI’s Executive Director, elaborated on the role that families play in eliminating violence against women, and discussed policies for balancing work and family duties. Dr. Al-Emadi also discussed the important role that the family plays in empowering women.

The forum was attended by Dr. Asmaa Al-Attiyah, Head of the Psychological Sciences Department at Qatar University, and Dr. Haya Al-Maadidi, Skills and Human Development Consultant. The session was moderated by Mrs. Aisha Al-Kuwari, CEO of Rosa Printing and Publishing.
