Ooredoo Dialed-in On Difi’s Work-life Balance Ideas After Major Knowledge-sharing Event

Time: Aug 09, 2021

Doha International Family Institute’s (DIFI) ongoing crusade to highlight the many benefits of finding the best work-life balance for both employees and organizations was spotlighted when it participated in a key online event organised by Qatar’s leading telecommunications operator, Ooredoo.

Held virtually, the event was the latest in a series of informative sessions organized as part of Afkaar, the company’s knowledge-sharing platform.

The get-together – delivered in line with Organizational Health Index initiatives announced by Ooredoo’s Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Mohammed Bin Al Thani – focused on the advantages of a good work-life balance for all and offered the opportunity to find ways to achieve such an important goal without comprising one or the other.

Upon Ooredoo’s request, Mr. Ahmed M. Aref, Content and Planning Manager at DIFI, who has conducted several significant research assignments into the work-life balance question, was invited to be a special guest speaker at the gathering.

DIFI is focused on a major advocacy plan which aims at raising awareness of the importance of flexible working hours, an issue it has highlighted via a number of key studies. This has included its published paper ‘Contribution of Social Policies in Achieving Work-Family Balance’.

Through Mr. Aref’s address, DIFI presented a variety of solutions and recommendations to Ooredoo at the session. The firm subsequently took into consideration DIFI’s ideas and have since applied some of them to their working practices.
