DIFI & HBKU participate in lecture series on family cohesion

Time: May 31, 2022

Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) experts delivered a series of lectures in partnership with Hamad Bin Khalifa University to promote family cohesion.

The five-part weekly series entitled ‘Towards Strong and Cohesive Families’ was broadcast live every Wednesday from Minaratain building. It highlighted the impact of intellectual and behavioral deviations on the family and society, helping identify best practices for families to care for the elderly, and to promote the protection of children and youth in Qatar.

The series also provided insights on the state of marital relationships in the Arab world during the early years of marriage, as well as government policies to maintain a work-family balance in Qatar and the Gulf region.

Dr. Sharifa Al-Emadi, DIFI’s Executive Director, discussed the ‘Impact of Intellectual and Behavioral Deviations on the Family and Society’ and ‘Marital Relations in the Arab World during the First Five Years of Marriage’.

Dr. Azza Abdel Moneim, Director of DIFI’s Family Research Department, touched on the ‘Needs of Families and Caregivers in Qatar’ while Mr. Khaled Al-Naama, DIFI’s Director of Family Policies, discussed ‘Protecting Youth in Qatar’. Mr. Ahmed Aref, Director of Planning and Content, also spoke about ‘Work and Family Balance Policies in Qatar and the Gulf Region’.

The session was held in line with QF’s strategy to promote collaboration among its entities to enhance awareness and facilitate the exchange of expertise and research on family affairs
