Bio :H.E. Dr Hussein Mwinyi

Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi is the 8th President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, having assumed office on November 2, 2020. A prominent leader in the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party, he has prioritized economic reforms, social welfare, and infrastructure development, while championing national unity and transparent governance.

Before his presidency, Dr. Mwinyi held several high-profile positions within the government of the United Republic of Tanzania, including Minister of Defense and National Service, Minister of Health and Social Welfare, and Minister of State in the Vice President’s Office (Union Affairs). In each of these roles, he gained a reputation for his integrity, efficiency, and dedication to public service.

As President of Zanzibar, Dr. Mwinyi is dedicated to driving sustainable growth, expanding the tourism sector and harnessing the potential of the Blue Economy. He is also committed to empowering youth and women, ensuring they play a central role in Zanzibar’s future development.
