Book launch was sponsored by the Qatar Mission to the United Nations.

A new book proclaiming the importance of “family capital” to help achieve the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) was officially released on May 14th 2012 by the Doha International Institute for Family Studies and Development (DIIFSD). The Family and the MDGs, with the sub-title of Using Family Capital to Achieve the Millennium Development Goals was presented to government leaders and policy makers at a book launch in Conference Room E at the UN, from 10am until noon.

The introduction of the book was written by Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, chairperson of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. She states, “I am pleased to introduce this book, which explores how the substantial resources generated within the family – or family capital – can be harnessed to achieve the well-defined and specific objectives of the MDGs.”
