DIFI awarded the first prize in the Social Sciences Posters, ARC 2016

Dr. Anis Bin Brik, senior lead researcher and Mr. Ahmed Aref, researcher, participated with a poster titled ‘The impact of Housing Welfare System in Family Formation and Dissolution in Qatar’ during the Annual Research Conference, organized by Qatar Foundation Research and Development on the 22-23 March 2016. The poster won the first prize in the Poster Presentations in the category of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.

Doha International Family Institute Discusses Realities facing GCC women married to Non-Nationals

The Situation of the Family in the Arab World

A new initiative looking into the literature on the situation of the family in the Arab world was launched in April 2013 by the Doha International Family Institute and the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy & International Affairs at the American University of Beirut. The project is designed to explore and analyze available knowledge on family in the Arab world generated both in the Arab World and from outside the region.

The Institute has special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC).
