DOHA INTERNATIONAL FAMILY INSTITUTE TO HOLD SECOND ANNUAL FAMILY POLICY FORUM

The Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) will hold its second annual Family Policy Forum from March 1 – 2. The event aims to provide a platform for discussion and debate surrounding policy issues related to the Arab family, and to help identify priorities for policy makers in the region.

Impact of Changing Population Dynamics on the Arab Family

DIFI organized an international seminar to take stock of the various changes on the Arab Family brought about by population and demographic dynamics, and to assess the policy implications of these changes. The Jurisprudence of Extended Families, Extending Families, and Intergenerational Solidarity

On Monday and Tuesday, April 30 & May 1, 2012, the Doha International Institute for Family Studies and Development and the International Academy for Study of the Jurisprudence of the Family will convene a 'Symposium on the Jurisprudence of Extended Families, Extending Families and Intergenerational Solidarity' in Doha, Qatar. The symposium is also co-sponsored by the Marriage & Family Law Research Project at the Brigham Young University Law School.

The Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), formerly known as Doha International Institute for Family Studies and Development (DIIFSD), was established by Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development in 2006. The Institute has special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC).
