Marya Reed, Director of Operations

Citizenship: American

Marya joined the Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) in 2006 as the Director of Operations. Prior to joining Qatar Foundation, Marya was a director at the World Family Policy Center at the J Reuben Clark School of Law, Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah. Marya holds a Juris Doctor degree from the J Reuben Clark School of Law.

Amani Al Dosari, Senior P.R. Specialist

Citizenship: Qatari

amani.JPGAmani Al Dosari is the Senior Public Relations Specialist at the Doha International Family Institute (DIFI). She has been working at DIFI since 2007. Prior to joining DIFI, Ms Al Dosari was the Media Research Specialist and NGO Coordinator at the Ministry of Education. She also produced a number of Children Programs on Qatar TV. Ms Al Dosari has two Master's Degrees from the University of Montpellier III and I respectively and completed a Masters Degree in Management & Strategies of Media Organizations-Marketing and a Masters Degree in Media & Information Technology. Ms Al Dosari speaks French and Arabic fluently.

Aida Abu Ras, Sr. Program Specialist

Citizenship: Jordanian

AidaAbuRas.JPGAida, who joined the Doha International Family Institute in 2013 as Senior Program Specialist, has more than twenty years of experience. Before joining the Institute she worked for different national and international organizations including UN-ESCWA as a regional Advisor on Empowerment and Advancement of women, the Jordanian National Commission for Women JNCW as senior program officer, the Swiss organization “Peace Women Across the Globe” as regional coordinator and had many consultancies with UNIFEM. Aida also worked at one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in Jordan as plant manager and training manager. She has worked in a non-typical line for women in rural and male dominated society and proved her substantive managerial skills. She is the co-founder and head of an NGO that works to protect migrant women human’s rights. Aida holds MA in Gender and BA in Pharmacy.

Rasha Al Afranji, Executive Assistant

Rasha Al Afranji joined DIFI as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director in January 2013. Her main duties are to support the Executive Director in organizing Directors and staff meetings, preparing minutes, and following up on subsequent decisions. In addition, she assists in organizing Board meetings, recording minutes and decisions of these meetings, before then submitting them for approval.

Before joining DIFI, she worked for the World Bank as Project Assistant. Her main duties were to assist the Senior Economist in preparing projects’ progress, drafting terms of reference for visiting missions, playing an active role in coordinating events/conferences, and assisting in reviewing the annual budget.

Rasha earned her Bachler of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.

Huda Said Mohammed Al-Abid, Accountant

Huda Said Mohammed S AL-Abid.pngCitizenship: Qatari

Huda graduated from the University of Qatar’s Faculty of Administration Sciences and Economics in 2001, majoring in Accounting. She worked in the Ministry of Civil Service Affairs and Housing from 2003 until 2012 as Head of the Accounting and Auditing Department. She then worked in training, joining Qatar University as Talent and Training Unit Head for five months, before joining DIFI in April 2013 as an Accountant. She spends most of her time participating in training workshops, and studying courses and self-development programs to get the training needed to achieve her vision.

Jeena George, Administrative Assistant

Jeena George.pngCitizenship: Indian

Jeena joined the DIFI in January 2008. She has been working as an Administrative Assistant at DIFI for the past five years. She completed her Master's in Social Work in 2005 from the Bharathiar University, India. Before joining Qatar Foundation, she was working with the Doha Asian Games Organizing Committee.



Taqi Raza
, IT Specialist

Taqi Raza.pngCitizenship: Canada

Taqi joined the Institute in 2006 managing IT requirements and outsourcing work and day-to-day operations. He has 22 years of information technology experience in Canada, US, Pakistan, UK, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. He has worked for multinational companies, governments and NGOs in the technology area, ERP, web development, network infrastructure, service support, ITSM, and Project management. He has managed multiple IT projects including rollouts, upgrades, infrastructure, ITSM implementation, service desk improvement etc. Taqi has a baccalaureate in math and physics, and is a certified project management professional through PMI USA, ITIL V3 Expert, and ISO 20000 certified consultant. Taqi is married and has three children.

Bejoy Thankachan, Finance Administrator

Bejoy-Thankachan.pngCitizenship: Indian

Bejoy has worked as Finance Administrator in the Doha International Family Institute for the last year. He started working in the Institute as Executive Assistant to the Deputy Managing Director in 2009. Bejoy graduated from the University of Kerala in 2001 and worked in India and various parts of the Middle East before joining Qatar Foundation.
